Mr. Kollitides has over 23 years of transaction, strategy and operations experience investing in private and structured equity, and debt of middle-market companies experiencing growth, ownership changes, consolidation, or other catalysts requiring capital and sophisticated partners. Over his career, Mr. Kollitides has been responsible for investing in or acquiring platform companies with revenues of $50 million to over $750 million in the government and business services, consumer and retail, telecom and media, and industrial and aerospace sectors. He has completed dozens of add-on acquisitions of companies with revenue of $5 million to over $100 million, raised billions of dollars in public and private debt and has created two $1 billion revenue platform companies. An experienced executive, he has served as a CEO, Chairman, Lead Director or Director on numerous public, private and non-profit boards, including as a member or Chairman of Compensation and Audit Committees.
Mr. Kollitides is currently a Senior Managing Director and Managing Principal of Aegis Capital Advisors, a merchant bank he founded that invests in, acquires and advises middle-market companies experiencing rapid growth, market or operational dynamics, consolidation or ownership changes. He is Chairman of the Board of Tier 1 Group, a special forces training business, and a Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of adMarketplace, the fourth largest search advertiser. Current Aegis investments and clients include Novo Precision, a manufacturer of machined healthcare components; Force 12 Media, a digital publisher of military and outdoor content; Mudrick Capital Management, a distressed credit and deep value investor; TitleCard, a middle-market private equity fund aligned with professional athletes, artists and entertainment executives that invests in the media, entertianment, and consumer sectors; and the Remington Outdoor Company, one of the world’s largest outdoor consumer companies.
Previously, Mr. Kollitides was Chairman and CEO of the Remington Outdoor Company, a platform he developed and grew from $60 million of revenue to over $1 billion by acquiring over twenty companies going through founder or organizational transitions and rapid growth. As CEO, he was responsible for over 3,500 employees, three million square feet of manufacturing facilities, and a portfolio of highly recognizable consumer brands sold through complex distribution, including mass merchants, big box retailers and wholesalers.
Prior to Remington, Mr. Kollitides was a Managing Director at Cerberus Capital Management, one of the world’s largest investment managers, where he focused on investing in private equity and debt of middle-market companies experiencing ownership changes, consolidation, growth or operational dynamics. At Cerberus, Mr. Kollitides was responsible for forming and managing the Analyst and Associate Groups and had primary responsibility for staffing all non-Managing Director investment professionals. Mr. Kollitides joined Cerberus from TenX Capital Management, a merchant bank he co-founded that invested in middle-market companies undergoing ownership transitions, operational challenges or other catalysts. After successfully investing in several companies, the TenX team joined Cerberus to access additional capital. Prior to co-founding TenX, he was a Principal at Catterton Partners, the largest consumer and retail-focused private equity fund, where he invested in recapitalizations, acquistions and growth equity. Mr. Kollitides started his career at GE, where he was one of the original members and founders of GE Equity. Prior to helping form GE Equity, Mr. Kollitides was a Six Sigma trained Analyst and Associate in GE’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring groups where he originated middle-market leveraged loans and restructured seven leveraged buyouts.
Mr. Kollitides is involved in several charities, volunteer organizations, and non-profit clubs, including serving as the Vice Chairman of the Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles, a non-profit focused on orthopedics and musculoskeletal diseases, for which he was honored with the 2010 Leadership Award. Mr. Kollitides was ranked by Sports One Source as one of 40 under 40 in the sporting goods industry, is one of only 100 regular members of the Boone and Crockett Club and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (“YPO”). He was previously a Member of the Lafayette College Board of Trustees’ Financial Policy Committee, a volunteer fireman, and a Theta Delta Chi, Phi Chapter, Trustee.
Mr. Kollitides received an MBA in Finance and Management of Organizations from Columbia Business School in 1998 and a BA in Economics with a Minor in Government and Law from Lafayette College in 1991. Mr. Kollitides resides in New Canaan, Connecticut, with his wife and their three sons.
